Dr Meg Redenbach

Meg is a Bairnsdale local through and through. Having lived in the area from a very young age, Meg completed all her schooling locally attending West Bairnsdale Primary and Nagle College for secondary school. Growing up Meg was heavily involved in the local pony clubs, in between playing netball nearly all of her spare time was spent with her horses.

Meg Left the area to Study Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga and completed her studies in 2015. Following graduation has worked predominately in mixed practice at Korumburra Veterinary Clinic and Gippsland Veterinary Hospital. Whilst at Korumburra Meg worked closely with companion animals and dairy cows. At Gippsland Veterinary Hospital she continued her work with Companion and Dairy animals, but also spent a large amount of time working at the Equine Hospital.

Meg returned to work in Bairnsdale in December 2018. In March 2019 Meg and her partner Mark purchased the Bairnsdale Animal Hospital from Dr Andrew Padula and then Eastwood Vets was born.

Dr Kristy Hodge

Kristy is the latest edition to the Eastwood Vets team, but originally haling From Buchan she is glad to be back in East Gippsland. Kristy grew up in Buchan on her families beef stud, attended Buchan Primary School and completed high school in Bairnsdale at Nagle College.

Kristy then headed to the big smoke and completed a Bachelor of Animal Science at Latrobe University.
Kristy studied Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, graduating in 2018. Kristy then completed an Equine Internship with Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital. Joining the team at Eastwood Vets in August 2019, Kristy has a special interest in horses and beef cattle.

Outside of work, Kristy is either spending time with her Cairn Terriers, riding horses or helping out on the family Hereford Stud in Buchan.

Sonja Stewart

Sonja is originally from Perth where she worked in an Specialist Equine Hospital and completed certificate 4 of vet nursing in 2007. Sonja has been part of the Bairnsdale Animal Hospital team since 2013.

Sonja lives on a farm in Eagle Point with her partner, Trent, and 3 daughters aged 5, 7 and 17 where they farm free range pigs to supply a number of local butchers.

In her spare time Sonja and her girls enjoy riding horses, competing in local pony club and HRCAV competitions.

Sonja has a special love for long haired Jack Russell's and cattle dogs which she also breeds.

As well as the pigs, dogs and horses the Stewart’s also have few free range chickens, a couple of cows and a cat.

Kylee Hickey

Most of our regular clients will have met Kylee as she has been working here since the clinic opened in 2008.

She has a science degree and is a qualified vet nurse, having worked as a nurse in various clinics for over 15 years.

Outside work hours, Kylee, together with her husband and two teenage daughters, enjoy the country life, sharing their property with horses, dogs and cats.

Kylee is also a keen cook and gardener. She especially enjoys cooking with her own home grown produce from her veggie garden .

Debbie Quirke

Deb is originally from the high country, born and raised in Omeo. She has lived in the area all her life, moving to Bairnsdale to work for the Bank of Melbourne in 1979.

Debbie found her passion for vet nursing later in her career, starting work at Bairnsdale Animal Hospital in 2011 and completed her studies in 2015.

When she’s not working at the clinic Deb helps her husband Alan run their business, East Gippsland Road Maintenance and loves spending time with her family, especially her two beautiful grandchildren.

Jacqueline Davies.

Jacqueline is currently our most junior vet nurse, having completed animal studies at high school she will be starting study as a vet nurse in Spring this year.

Jacqueline has grown up in Bairnsdale and many of you may recognise her face from Bairnsdale Horse Centre where she has worked for the last few years.

Jacqueline is a real outdoors girl, she enjoys camping with family and friends on her weekends, horse riding and isn’t afraid to give anything a crack.

On the down low, she’s also a pretty handy whip cracker and can hold a beautiful tune!!

Polly Teague

Polly, like Debbie, also origintaes from the high country having grown up in Benambra. Polly is a qualified certificate 4 vet nurse with many years of experience in several other mixed and small animal clinics.

On her weekends Polly enjoys motorbike riding threw Gispplands beautiful scenery and spending time with her cats and elderly Ridgeback Maggie May.
